WhatsApp testing new features for audio and video calls

Image
WhatsApp has begun testing new audio and video call options for its Android users. This revelation comes from WABetaInfo, who spotted these features in WhatsApp for Android's beta version 2.25.10.16. The first one is the mute button for an incoming voice call. It appears in the notification panel and allows users to answer the call while muting the microphone. We are not sure how exactly this will be useful. In noisy environments, perhaps? Tell us in the comments below how you'd use this feature. The second feature is for incoming video calls. It allows you to turn off the camera... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/I02jVPa

Deals: Google Pixel 9, Samsung Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy A36

Image
Things have quieted down after last week’s Amazon Big Spring Sale, but there were a number of important announcements this week that are worth keeping an eye on. For one, Google set an availability date for the Pixel 9a – April 10 for the US. The phone will start at $500 for the 8/128GB model, pricing for the 256GB variant hasn’t been confirmed yet. Meanwhile, the vanilla Google Pixel 9 is down to $650 for the base 12/128GB model and doubling the storage costs only $50. That still leaves a decent gap between the 9 and 9a and both models use the same Tensor G4 chipset. The Pixel 9 is... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/mQSV410

TikTok gets another 75-day reprieve from Donald Trump

Image
TikTok's 75-day grace period in which it needed to sell its US operations or get banned would have ended tomorrow, but today US President Donald Trump decided to give the app another 75-day reprieve. In a post on Truth Social, Trump says his administration has been "working very hard on a deal to save TikTok" and "made tremendous progress" - but not enough progress, it seems, for another reprieve not to be needed. Anyway, the deal apparently "requires more work to ensure all necessary approvals are signed", and Trump hopes to continue "working in good faith with China" regarding the... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/rKOPLli

WhatsApp will let you prevent others from auto-saving media you send them

Image
WhatsApp is working on a new privacy feature which was spotted in the latest beta build for Android. This will be in development for a while longer, so don't expect to get it right away. When you do, however, it will let you add enhanced privacy meaning people you talk to will be prevented from having media you send them auto-saved on their devices. Normally, WhatsApp auto-saves every media item you receive on your phone. But when this is implemented, you'll have the option to prevent other people's phones from doing that, as seen in the screenshot above. This is the same... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/Ns4AovO

Motorola Edge 60 Fusion in for review

Image
Motorola unveiled the Edge 60 Fusion today, and lo and behold, it's in our office and ready for review! There are regional differences with the Edge 60 Fusion - some regions get a 5,500mAh battery, while others (like ours) get a 5,200mAh unit - both are bigger than the 5,000mAh of its predecessor, though. Some regions will get a Dimensity 7300 in their Motorola Edge 60 Fusion, while others will get the 7400. Luckily, there's not much of a difference between the two SoCs. Poco C71 runs Geekbench confirming its chipset

Image
The Poco C71 will be launched on April 4 in India via Flipkart, and the brand itself started teasing it yesterday. Today, the device has been spotted in the Geekbench database. The listing has confirmed the fact that it's powered by the Unisoc T7250 SoC, which sort of confirms our theory that it's just a rebranded Redmi A5, since that model uses the same chipset too. The Poco ran Geekbench with 4GB of RAM, and it will also have a 6GB option. It will run Android 15. Flipkart has already revealed that the C71 comes with a 6.88-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh... from GSMArena.com - Latest articles https://ift.tt/iW6hGOQ
